How to play
A debate here takes about 5 minutes. Here is how it works.
1. Pick a topic
Tap a topic on the home screen, type your own, or press Surprise me.
2. Choose your side
Decide if you agree or disagree. Then pick your opponent, how tricky it is and how many rounds.
3. Take turns
You go first. Type or tap Talk to share your idea, then your opponent answers.
4. Use hints if you need them
Stuck? Tap Show me hints for a sentence starter or a fact.
5. Get your results
After the last round you get stars for five skills, your best idea and tips.
6. Ask the coach
Not sure how to improve? Ask the coach a question about your debate.
Top tips
- Give one clear reason each turn.
- Answer what your opponent just said.
- Stay kind, even when you disagree.
